2006 mercury verado 150 . splitting gearbox..... all 5 bolts are out two either side and one at the back. am i missing something does not want to come apart

Customer: cant seperate the gearbox to replace the impellar ..... its a low hour engine just been sitting a while

If the engine is either used in salt water or it has been several years since the lower unit has been off, it may just be stuck on the dowel pins. use a rubber mallet to strike the read of the lower unit to loosen it up slightly. You may then need to pry it loose using small pry bars or screwdrivers.
