Hi. I have a HONDA 225hp outboard, with the gears SO difficult to 'crunch' from one into the other!! i have inspected all i can, and all seems very clean and sufficient grease-wise!?...wondering re approx cost for a 'service' to get gears running SMOOTHLY!! and cost for new one complete??? thanks, Wayne.

What do you mean by the gears "crunch" into the other? Are you getting grinding when you shift?

Have discovered that my best solution is to 'simply' get in a Honda mechanic to replace the whole gear-shift cable from stick to engine gear attachment. I cannot afford possible problems encountered by just trying to 'unkink' or 'grease' the cable or whatever. Bye.
