Measure the voltage that is going to the starter solenoid when the engine is running. Make sure that the voltage is at least 12.5V at idle and at 2500 RPM, it should be at least 14.2V DC. If it is not, you would need to test the voltage that is coming from the stator going to the voltage regulator. If that is good, replace the regulator.
