My Volvo Penta Index Side Mount Remote Control with Trim

Customer Question

My Volvo Penta Index Side Mount Remote Control with Trim throttle
assembly sometimes sticks in neutral after I start the engine. I have been
banging on the side of it to get it unstuck, but believe it needs lubrication.
How do I insure that the push button release mechanism will function normally
and not stick in neutral?

To lubricate the neutral only device, you would need to remove the control box from the side of the boat, then take it apart. An easier way may be to shot some lube like WD-40 into the hole that the plunger goes into as a temporary repair until you can remove the control from the side of the boat.
