I have a 33 ft carver w/twin 360 crusaders, the port engine

Customer Question

I have a 33 ft carver w/twin 360 crusaders, the port engine breaks down and quits after running for approx 30 minutes at 2900 rpms. I wait about 5 mins and it will restart but won't run over 2000 rpms without again breaking down. I have had both carbs rebuilt changed all filters yet can't fix problem. Please advise.

Hello. My name is Tan.

Does the engine still have spark after it quits and won't restart?

Do both engines run off the same fuel tank?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
the engine still has spark, and I have tried separate fuel tanks as well as together. I even tried bringing gas on board and with a separate fuel line

When was the last time you had the engine tuned up? Are you still using points ignition. A condenser can start to break down and cause ignition issues and the engine can still have spark it will be very weak. Have you tested for voltage at the ignition coil positive side when engine starts to act up. If you are still using points you could also have a ballast resistor breaking down causing loss of voltage to the coil. You can still have spark but very weak.
