Hello, my name is***** will assist you.

What is it that you are working on?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
2004 crownline 182 with 4.3 mercruiser
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
replaced oil in system because it was milky looking. Filled with new oil and bled system now it will not trim about half way up.

It this with the switch pushed into the trailer position?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
would that be on the throttle handle. All I see is an up and down.
Expert:  Charles replied 1 year ago.

Yes the up switch has two clicks. press it up alittle further.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I hold the switch down until the trim motor stops, nothing happens if I push it again. But when it quits it is only half way up
Expert:  Charles replied 1 year ago.

When was the last time that it trimmed correctly?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
before the oil was changed. It is actually my dads boat. He wanted to change the oil because it looked like it had water in it. After replacing the oil and during the air bleeding process, it would only go about half way up and the trim motor stops.

Did you remove the rams or anything when you replaced the oil?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
no. just the lines. Pulled up on the stern and pushed it all the way back down with the lines removed to get all the old oil out. Then flushed the system.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I said "stern" but what I meant was we pulled all the way up on the motor and pushed it all the way back down to get as much of the oil oil out of the rams as we could.

Do you have a multimeter

Is there a square button 3/4 ways up the throttle lever?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have a multimeter. no square button though.
Expert:  Charles replied 1 year ago.

Ok, locate the wires that are coming from the trim solenoid. Test the voltage as someone trims the engine up. Make sure that you are not losing voltage to the solenoid.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
13.5 volts.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
