Hi Neil, my name is Kenny

I need you to help me narrow this down, we have to figure out if its an electrical issue or fuel related.

So when the unit quits, does it start right back up and then continues to die ?

Has this unit been sitting, when was the last time used ?

Is this unit a Monte Carlo 640 ?

Thanks

been sitting over the Winter, but was acting similar when put away last fall. Start, accelerate briefly, then die.Yes, is a Monte Carlo.Neil(###) ###-####

So it will restart right away after it dies ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
re-starts then dies right away.

OK Neil we need to narrow this down, based on your description I would lean towards electrical, lets say that if its a fuel issue (starvation) it would likely be hard to start on a re-start.

Will it do this out of the water ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Seemed to start ok out of water, but only ran it for 10 seconds.

Would you happen to have timing light ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No timing light.

Do you have a Harbor Freight tool store close to you ?

I would really like to make sure that the spark is dying as it quits, if you want to swing in to Harbor and pick up a spark tester I think at this point it would take some of the guess work out of it ?
