I have a 150 outboard. last time I was out the throttle

Customer Question

I have a 150 johnson outboard. last time I was out the throttle would stay in forward when it was put in neutral. The boat will start but it starts if gear when throttle is in neutral. This happened before (5 yrs ago) and I think I adjusted the cables (tightened a nut) in the throttle box. I can't remember what to do.

Hello. My name is Tan.

What you need to do is disconnect the shift cable at the motor. Put motor in neutral. Put control in neutral. Now adjust the shift cable to where it goes on to the mounts with out moving the engine linkage.

Can you do this?
