Customer Question

Jason, I own a 2006 mercury verado, this past weekend had to be towed back to the marina, the problem is the starter isn’t engaging properly, as if the Bendix is grinding, it cranked fine when cold, the issue occurs after heat has built up, not sure exactly what the issue is, the starter ? or the solenoid ?

Hi Kenny, Jason here.

All Mercurys are cataloged by serial number, can I start by getting that number.

Next, what is the starter doing exactly? Is it engaging the flywheel but not turning it?
