I do not have access to my pontoon but want to buy an outboard motor for it. Is there a way to calculate how large a motor i can buy without looking at the National Marine Manufacturers Association Certification Plate?

Hello, my name is***** will assist you. Typically as just a ball park answer to your question, a 20ft pontoon was rated for a two stroke 60. Being that todays engines are heavier, a 60 HP engine may be too much weight for the transom and you would need to drop down a class to a 40hp Four stroke.
