I have a 94 mercury mariner efi outboard. Didn't winterize

Customer Question

I have a 94 mercury mariner efi outboard. Didn't winterize last yr. Live in nebraska. Used it last mid November. And went back out mid march this yr. I drained the water out when I put it away last fall. I should b OK right? Been out 7 times or more this yr. It started right up in march. And always warmed it up 5 - 10 min. When air and water were cool. Just a little less smooth than I remember. Just check lower unit oil and change. Maybe check spark plugs and spray sea foam in em? Thanks

Hello Ryan. My name is ***** ***** be fine. If it starts and runs and you have no alarms I wouldn't worry. Now if it has been more than a year I would think about doing the water pump impeller. This would be the only concern as a precaution. The regular maintenance period for the pump is once a year or 100 hours of use. This is preventive maintenance.
