Hello. My name is Tan.

Have the valves themselves come apart or are the seals just bad on the valves?

I don't find a 25V but a 250V are you sure of the model number?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have a photo of the valves & the pump assembly
model 25 V
serial 414the plastic valves in the ends of the springs have broken & fallen apart
I recon I need a repair kit
is such a kit available
Expert:  Tan replied 1 year ago.

Not to the general public. The helms have to be rebuilt by a qualified company. Liability reasons they won't sell the valves.

Here is a company that is a qualified rebuilder for steering helms.

I would highly recommend having the helm professionally rebuilt for your safety.

I am a qualified mechanic
it is my own boat
can i purchase a repair kit
Expert:  Tan replied 1 year ago.

When I say qualified I mean in rebuilding these helms specifically. I have been doing this for over 40 years and have never been able to get valves just seal kits.

I did find the 25 unit. Here is another company that rebuilds these helms. This company doesn't recommend you rebuilding the helm either.

You will have to call to see if they will sell the valves but I doubt it due to liability reasons.

Sorry i did not explain
I am in Australia
Expert:  Tan replied 1 year ago.

I don't have access to companies in Australia. But either way They aren't going to sell the valves.

You can contact this company they do international.

Thank you for your assistance
I will make direct contactI believe i can rebuild it with out too much dramarory
Expert:  Tan replied 1 year ago.

I have tried and wound up having it done professionally. I had to take it back apart many times then wasn't sure so had it sent out. This was for a customer so I didn't want to take the chance it could fail. But since it is for your self you can give it a go. I just don't think they will sell you the valves but good luck.

Thank you.........Tan
