I have a 140hp 4stroke Bombardier 2006, I recently ran out

Customer Question

i have a 140hp 4stroke Johnson Bombardier 2006, I recently ran out of fuel and to the best of my knowledge it is what caused my " Check Eng" light to come on. I have since put fuel in the tank and the engine will fire up and idle no problems, but the Check Eng alarm will sound and the light stays on. I have read that you can disconnect the Negative battery terminal and this normally will reset the light but i am a little concerned on doing this.Do you have any suggestions please .
