Hi Mike, Jason here again.

Are you talking about the power trim unit on your outboard, or an electrical boat lift?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The latter. That lifts the boat out of the water.

We talked yesterday. Good morning. The server works great - thx.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The boat got blocked by an object while it was being lifted so the motor couldn't spin. After removing the object, the motor no longer moves. Just hums.

Do you know exactly which motors you have? Is there any names on them? More importantly, more than likely the motors would need to go to an electrical motor repair shop to be repaired, what kinds of questions did you have on them?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I was wondering if the hum indicated a capacitor problem. Or if the whole needs to be replaced.
Expert:  Jason replied 1 year ago.

I would need to know exactly what you have in order to say. Some motors have starting capacitors, others do not.
