Customer Question

Temp gauge not reading when connected to engine block. Gauge tacks out when grounding lead to engine. When holding sending unit in hot water grounding to engine there is a reading. Changed gauge and sender issue still the same. If I remove the sending unit and run the engine water comes out. This is a mercruiser*****

Hello. My name is Tan.

Is the engine getting up to temperature? If the thermostat is stuck open the engine will not get hot enough to register on the gauge.

Have you checked the engine temp with an IR temp gun to verify that it is getting up to temp?
