I just purchase a sailboat that has an Onan Generator Model

Customer Question

I just purchase a sailboat that has an Onan Generator Model MDKBL-5742610. At Dock the boat is conected to our standard current 240Volts 60 Hertz, however when I turn on the generator it runs at 50 Hertz. Everything work fine (Air conditions and Battery Chargers).
In the spec sheet is said that is swichable 50/60 Hertz
Is this a simple task?
Are there any advantages or disadvantages to run at 50 or 60 Hrtz?
