Customer Question

I have a 1999 Yamaha gp800 waverunner. I can get it to start once in a while, but barely and I can't get any throtttle on it when I do. It also smokes a lot when I do manage to get it to start

Hi and thank you for your question.

The first thing we need to do no matter what is do a compression test on the engine. When you do it, make sure you leave the other spark plug in as you test. Hold the throttle wide open as you crank the engine for the test.

My next question would be, has the ski been sitting un used for awhile?

Also, what brand of oil are you using and what did the spark plugs that you replaced look like?

How many hours are on the ski?

IF you could provide that information, we can go forward from there.
