I have a 1984 2 stroke 75 hp Mercury outboard, it runs great

Customer Question

I have a 1984 2 stroke 75 hp Mercury outboard, it runs great off the hose at home but won't get over 1500 Rpms full throttle in the lake, and sometimes bogs down and dies at full throttle, when I squeeze my primer bulb gas shoots of of the bottom carb, please help

Ok this is most likely dirty carburetors. The bottom carb has an inlet needle issue as it doesn't seat correctly and will cause a flooding condition. Now sine one carb is causing an issue it is likely the high speed jets are clogged in the carbs this will cause bogging.

Did you try choking the engine when trying to get on plane?

Has the boat been sitting for awhile unused or did this problem just start?
