Customer Question

I have a 2006 bayliner 285 with mercury engine. The problem is lately when I increase RPM there is a slight grinding sound in the outdrive and the speed is not increasing the way it used to. Is this the outdrive or the prop (I have a counter rotating dual prop)?

Hello. My name is ***** ***** I will be assisting you today.
Have you checked the gear lube in the drive? We are looking for signs of metal.
If you haven't this would be the first check. Check the gear lube at the drain plug at the front bottom of the drive. Just remove the plug long enough to get an oil sample.
