Hello my name is ***** ***** am I speaking with?

What kind of RPMS are you getting? What sized boat is this?

Also, is there a story or history behind this, when did the boat last get to speed properly?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Rpms 3000 plus. 21 foot bayliner
Last time to speed was Memorial Day weekend. Since then it has been sluggish

Hi Mike. Are you getting any kind of speed out of the boat at all? Or is the engine just getting to 3000 rpms and no higher no matter how much throttle you give it?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Before the 2+2 would kick in as I throttled up. Now it just seems like I'm running high rpms without the extra kick. I use high octane fuel and a quality 2 cycle marine oil. I'm not get anymore speed than 10 mph at the most.

What needs to happen is the engine needs to be tested for compression and spark output. Compression testing requires a compression gauge. Spark output can be checked with either a timing light or an adjustable gap spark tester. Are these things you can do yourself?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I had it checked in May. I'll check it again. Thanks

Are you doing this yourself or would you have a tech do it?
