Customer Question

i have a 1993 Riviera Cruise Pontoon - i think there might be water in the pontoon but i don't see a plug in the rounder rear of the pontoon to let it drain
is there a way to see if there is water in the pontoon or cut a hole in the pontoon and put a plug into it?

Hello,my name is***** will assist you today.

Get the boat back up on its trailer. Then shake the boat hard and listen to the logs. If there is water in them, you will hear it slosh around. Try to determine which chamber of the log it is in. Then drill a small hole in the bottom of the log. Allow the water to drain, then take the boat to a weld shop and have the hole sealed.

each pontoon is considered a log and welded together to make the pontoon
with the boat on the trailer it is very difficult to rock it see if i can hear in one of the logs
can i drill a hole in the top of the pontoons and see if there is water?

The water will not be at the top. It will be near the bottom. The hole that you rill into the log would not be very large at all. Just enough for water to leak out. With it on the trailer, you should be able to just rock it some and you will hear the water sloshing around inside the logs.

is there something that i can attach to record the sound to the pontoon so i can do it mysleft

Shake the boat from the rear side of it. Pressing and releasing on the rail above the toons. You will be able to hear if any water is sloshing around inside the log. Do this from each side, and you will know if there is any in them.
