No spark on marine force 50 hp motor. Boat motor looks new

Customer Question

No spark on marine force 50 hp motor. Boat motor looks new and I bought it off someone that used it with no problems last year. Has good coil pack, trigger, flywheel and still no spark. What can I check next ?

Hello. My name is Tan.

Could I get the engine model and serial number please?

Go to the terminal strip where the wiring harness connects to the engine on the side of the motor and disconnect the white wire. Now check for spark. Do you have spark?

2010 serial number
507Y9B. Model number and I don't see any white wires on the strip

Ok locate the CDI module # ***** disconnect the white wire from the module. Do you have spark now? Dues to the age of the motor the wire may not be white. It could be more of a cream color.
