Could I get the engine model number please?

To set the timing on this motor connect the timing light to # ***** cylinder. Loosen the base clamp on the distributor. Start engine and check timing at the front of the engine reading the timing scale. The harmonic balancer on the crankshaft will have a mark and on the engine there will be a scale. The timing spec for this engine is 18* BTDC. Turn the distributor to achieve the correct timing. Once set tighten clamp at base of distributor check timing to verify the dist didn't move.

Post back if there is something you don't understand.

Thank you.......Tan
