I have a 2003 Mercruiser 225 saltwater motor that just quit

Customer Question

I have a 2003 Mercruiser 225 saltwater motor that just quit running and when I tried to restart it it would fire but not stay running. Are there any common problems with this motor that I should look at.

Hello, my name is***** thing to stat with is to make sure that you are getting 12V out of the key switch all the time when it is on, on the purple wire. If you are not, replace the key switch. If you are, make sure that there is not any water in the fuel. These two are the most common causes for the issue that you are having.
