I have a 2007 40 hp efi 4s mercury and has always ran great.

Customer Question

I have a 2007 40 hp efi 4s mercury and has always ran great. My prop got bent and was running ruff and now will only rev up to 2800 rpm. I changed out the prop with a new one but it will only rev to 2899 rpm. Is there a reset process that I can do or do I have to take it to a mercury mechanics?

There isn't any kind of reset on an engine. Was the new propeller the same diameter and pitch as the old one?
