Customer Question

Hi James,
W27 Westserbeke, limited raw water flow. Raw water pump is good. Elbow is clear. Can it be a clogged heat exchanger?

Hello. My name is***** the heat exchanger could be partially clogged with scale or debris. Remove both sea water lines from the exchanger. Connect a garden hose on the out side of the exchanger opposite end where the sea water connects. Back flush the exchanger. Do you get debris? Then get some vinegar and fill the exchanger with vinegar and let it set for a couple of hours. Back flush again. Now reconnect and run engine does it pump better? Post back with questions and findings.
