Detroit Diesel engines 6V: Dear sirs, We have a GM Detroit

Customer Question

Dear sirs,
We have a GM Detroit Diesel engine on board our vessel.
The engine is 6V keel cooled. We are facing overheating of the cooling water.
We have cleaned the expansion tank, breather line, dismantled the pump, flush the line.. But the cooling water is still exceeding 100degC.
The sea water temperature is around 35.
The other generator is working properly.
Please advise on***@******.***
Many thanks

Hi are you under way when it over heats. You may have an air lock in the system. or if you are not under way the water is not passing the cooler under the boat.If you are at dock try to run the boat i reversePat
