I have a Yamaha 225 with a 704 control. The problem is the throttle sticks. When it sticks the lever is almost locked in position. What should I look at firs.

Hello. My name is***** the control cable at the engine then see how the control works. Does it still stick? Check the operation of the linkage on the engine. Where you disconnect the cable from the engine pull on the pin that advances the throttle. Does it move smoothly?
