Jeremy, I own a 2003 Yamaha LX210. The engines were replaced

Customer Question

Hi Jeremy, I own a 2003 Yamaha LX210. The engines were replaced and have 42 hours on them. My left engine is consistent with my right engine until 5,000 RPM as I apply more throttle the right engine continues to climb to 6.5k or 7k but the left engine remains at 5k. If I baby the throttle on the bad engine sometimes it does jump to 6k or 6.5k and you can feel the additional horse power. If I punch it and go full throttle the right engine takes off and jumps to 7k but the left engine will fall on its face and drop to 2k or 3k or stall. Can you point me in the right direction?

Hi, My name is***** you for letting me try and assist you with your problem.
Sounds like you have some carb issues.
I would say that it's time to drop in some rebuild kits.
Be careful trying to push it. If it's running lean on fuel it will run hot and burn down.

Do you have any particular kit in mind? Any other thoughts on these symptoms? Thanks
Expert:  Jeremy R. replied 2 years ago.
No the symptoms are pretty text book.
You'll need 3 Mikuni carburetor rebuild kits.
Using Mikuni brand is a little more expensive than the aftermarket brands but it's worth the cost.
No need to spend the big dollars from Yamaha because it's just Mikuni parts rebranded as Yamaha.
