Customer Question

Twin 2014 Mercury Verados 300's.

repowered from 250's on a Boston Whaler(###) ###-####Conquest.

Went out today and had a engine failure with alarm DTS Fault 17. Boat has deep cycle group 27 batteries  x 4. Load tested all, test fine but if I trim the motors alarms good off. One motor will run but any increase voltage load and alarms go off and she goes into guardian mode.  All symptoms point to a bad battery but again all have been isolated and test good. tested with jump cable style load tested with element not electronics.  My thoughts, need group 31 AGM. Bad cell or something with batteries.  Mercury recommends AGM for Verado, but don't know why they test good. Any thoughts.

Hello, my name is***** you for allowing me to assist you today.

With the updated engines, did you also update the controls?

What exactly did the readout on the gauge say? There are 2 listed for fault 17.
