Hello my name is ***** ***** I will be helping you today. When boat dropped speed, was the engine still at a high rpms but just no thrust from the propeller? Or did the rpms drop at the same time the boat lost speed?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

When you start the engine, does the alarm beep each time letting you know that the alarm system works?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Yes

The basic sets of checks on the optimax engine are going to be;
1. Check compression
2. Checking spark to the cylinders/checking spark output form the coils
3. Checking fuel/air pressures.
Each one of those checks requires some special tooling. What was it you were looking to do... what kind of questions do you have about the engine?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Yeah just was wanting a quick fix was trying to stay out on water fishing
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Is there a module or fuse to like a altitude adjustment
Expert:  Jason replied 2 years ago.
No nothing like that. Sounds like you will have to bring it in.

Ok thank you

One thing that you can test the the fuel. Make sure that there is no water in it. On the VST there is a small hose dipping between 2 fittings. Remove the hose from the rear fitting, then open the front valve, catch any fuel that comes out of the chamber. Allow it to settle and see if there is more than one layer in the jar. If you have water in the fuel that can slow the engine down and it may not be enough water to trigger the alarm.
