Customer: Pulled lower unit, replaced water pump and seals. After reinstalling unit cranked it up and had good flow from the tell tale. Also had water flowing through my corrosion anode and overflow at the front of the motor. Used a plastic 50 gallon barrel to do the test run. It is a 06 honda bp90.

Hello my name is ***** ***** I will be helping you today. I read what you wrote but do not see a question in here. Are you having some kind of problem?
It looks like you read my response and logged off. Did you try to reply back? If you did, I did not receive it.

Water flow coming out of the front of the motor above the lower unit where the shaft goes into the powerhead there is a hole about an inch wide. The anode and small screw above the upper screw for gear case oil. Is this normal? This is my first time to replace my seals and water pump and dont remember this going on before when I ran it in the barrell.
These engines do not use seals to seal the exhaust pipe to the lower unit. So it is normal to see some water down in that area when running on the garden hose.
I think that about covers it. If there was something I missed just let me know. If not, You should see the ratings box now. Please let me know if you can not see it, or if you have a hard time when trying to put through an excellent rating for me. If you do end up having a further question about this later you can still come back and ask, doing the ratings does not close out the questions.
Thanks again and happy boating!

Im not running on a garden hose. I'm running it in a plastic barrel.
It's the same idea. When the boat is in the water, and the outboard sits as it normally would when in the water, that entire area is normally under water.
Customer
Thanks, ***** ***** worried because I don't remember seeing this when I had previously ran the unit in the plastic barrel. Must not have been paying as close attention as I did after reinstalling.
This will make more sense if you feel like taking it back apart and looking at it again. But if you want to, drop the lower again and then look up and into the midsection. And locate the exhaust pipe that comes down. all of the water that runs through the engine comes out of that exhaust pipe. You will see there is a small space between the pipe and the lower unit. So it is normal to have water almost overflow out of that general area. When the boat is in the water, that whole area is basically underwater.
Customer
Thanks.
You are very welcome. Please do not forget to put through a positive rating for me, or else the website will not credit me for the time I have spent with you.
Thanks again,
Jason
