That's perfectly normal and fine. I would caution you about running in a barrel. Do not run in gear, don't rev the engine. If running in a barrel run a hose of fresh water into the barrel and don't run for more than 5 to 10 minutes as the water will quickly heat and can cause overheating. In addition the water will become aerated and will not cool properly. Better to just run the engine using a flushing devise at idle speeds.
