Hi, and thank you for letting me try and assist you with your problem.

what drive? SX or DP?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
thx. Its a DP.
Yesterday i ran over a shallow area (somehow my depth gauge was turned off) and the props hit and engine cut. I turned back on (engine fine) but when i try to engage props (forward or reverse) they wont turn.. Just my engine revs. Prop blades are bent. Assuming i busted lower unit? the boat was new in 2094 with volvo penta duo prop DP..

You could have spun the prop hubs, when you hit things this will happen

If the boat is out of water, put it in gear and spin the props, and see if they turn
they should be locked up when in gear

I did what you said and the props actually spin.. What do you think? What could be wrong?
Expert:  Jeremy R. replied 6 years ago.
ok, i would remove the props first, then drain some of the gear oil, the drain plug is either behind the props, or on the front of the bullet

if it comes out without chunks and not pitch black, then you might have just spun the props

the other thing is to start up the boat, then put it in gear and see if they move

Ok hope all went good for you guys
