VerifiedThe difference between the left hand rotation and the right hand is the direction the prop spins. When twin engines are mounted on a boat, a right hand rotation is mounted on the right side, and a left hand on the left. By having the counter rotation the torque that would be caused by two right hand motors is eliminated. For you there is no real disadvantage except for the availability of props. I am not saying there are fewer left hand props available, there will just be fewer available in stock at the dealership. The only disadvantage to that is say you bust a prop, and need one for the weekend. Chances are slim most dealers will have a large quantity of left hand props in stock.
Now to the difference between the Yamaha and the E-tec. First the E-tec is direct fuel injected, which will mean faster starts and much better fuel economy. The E-tec also emmits far fewer emissions. You have already mentioned the warranty difference. The E-tec is also quiter, and claims to not require dealer maintenance for three years. The E-tec will be much more difficult for you to personally perform any diagnostics and repair. It requires computer hookup, and training to do so. Bottomline, both are good motors, and you should be happy with either. If you have any other questions please let me know.

The only difference in the 115 and 130 will be the settings in the computer. It is basically identical, the computer will just squeeze a little more horsepower out of it. In my opinion it is always better to get as much horsepower as you can. This will lessen the load on the motor during normal operation, and when you have a heavy load on board. You may be able to negotiate a little better price on the 130 due to the fact that it is now one year old, and a left hand motor. Try making a little lower offer, and you may be pleasantly surprised.
