Verifiedno you cannot do that as the water intake into the powerhead is in a different location, the posistion and size of the exhaust ports are completly different. they are too different.

VerifiedHello.. You can interchage the powerheads as both are small bore loopers. You will have to use the 300 adapter plate and tuner to make it work. In my opinion I would not do this as the 300 never idled good anyway,has slower hole shot and you will be adding extra weight. I would find a 1987 -1992 powerhead and replace blown one and you cannot install a looper block on crossflow plate.
no it cannot bolt on as the midsection is a different bolt pattern and part number. the mounts also weren't designed to take the weight of the v8
