he contact owns a 2010 BMW 328I. While driving approximately 65 mph in the dark, the headlights intermittently illuminated. Also, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. Upon opening the trunk, the contact noticed that the trunk light was burned out and a strong burning odor was present. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic. The remote key that opens the door , back trunk etc and starts the engine is not operational and so I have to use the manual key . I was in Ft. Lauderdale to the Vista dealership where I thought that I could get a key with details of the vehicle. I was told that that is not possible since serial numbers are removed from the BMW system on Export . I live in Freeport , Bahamas and was told that a replacement could only come from a dealer ship in Jamaica .
