Metal strip on the running board is bent. When I straighten

This answer was rated:

Metal strip on the running board is bent. When I straighten it, how should I re-attach it?
JA: What is the model/year of your BMW?
Customer: 2011 535 XI
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Haven't tried anything. It's my husband's car, the problem is on the passenger side, and he doesn't see it. He hates the idea of taking it to the dealer for another mega bill.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I think that's all. It's a bent strip of metal. Aluminum, I think.

Hi Judy, my name is***** this part located on the door sill? Can you post a picture?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
It's under the door, on the floor of the door opening, where you step into the car. I can't take a photo at the moment.

Are you still there?

yes I am

That piece is just held down with double stick tape. When refitting the piece I would use a double stick tap such as carpet tape or you may need something a little thicker. You can buy Scotch brand double stick tape in different thicknesses at the hardware store.
