I just got the car a week ago
what model is the car? what transmission does it have?

2006 BMW M5 SMG transmission
I have seen this issue on forums and repairs are ranging from clutch sensor to pump motor, to clutch replacement to full blown kit repair for like $5k. Hoping it isn't the last one
It could be any of the above. You need to have the faults scanned from the car to know what the underlying trigger of the warning is. There is no other way to know. If you need a non dealer to save on costs check out for options. Please let me know if you have further questions. Please do not forget to click a positive rating as this is the only way I receive credit for my answer, thank you. Best wishes with your vehicle.
