Hi, I am Mike, welcome. I'm reviewing your question.

Expert:  Beemer_Werke replied 1 month ago.

How much battery voltage do you have both with key off and with the key on start?

It should be at least 12 volts with key off and not drop 9.6 volts with the key on start.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
i will check,
Expert:  Beemer_Werke replied 1 month ago.

ok

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
battery is ok
Expert:  Beemer_Werke replied 1 month ago.

What were the voltages?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
im not sure, he just said they were ok. If its not the battery, whats the next thing to check
Expert:  Beemer_Werke replied 1 month ago.

When he said he had power to the starter motor, is that where the big battery cable hooks to it or also where the wire comes from the ignition switch and relay for the solenoid?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
where the main cable is
Expert:  Beemer_Werke replied 1 month ago.

Ok, first check this fuse, #f105 in the fuse holder.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
which fuse holder, in eng bay?
Expert:  Beemer_Werke replied 1 month ago.

See if there is a #105 there.

Expert:  Beemer_Werke replied 1 month ago.

I believe that is it, right rear under the hood.

Expert:  Beemer_Werke replied 1 month ago.

Someone else say it is behind the glove box.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
ok, will check. whats that fuse for?
Expert:  Beemer_Werke replied 1 month ago.

Shown here, although it doesn't show 105 but does show 104 and 107.

Expert:  Beemer_Werke replied 1 month ago.

The ignition switch and the immobilizer, seen in this wiring diagram.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
is 104 and 107 definitely behind the glove box?
Expert:  Beemer_Werke replied 1 month ago.

Let me check for sure in the owners manual if Ian get it, so tell me the last 7 digits of the vin.

you have an owners manual?

I tried here but it didn't work, https://www.bmwusa.com/owners-manuals.html

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
i have the manual
Expert:  Beemer_Werke replied 1 month ago.

Then it should show where the f105 fuse is and the fuse holder.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
i will check
Expert:  Beemer_Werke replied 1 month ago.

Ok. If and when you find that fuse and it is ok, next would be to find the starter relay and put your finger tips on it and feel if it clicks one time when the key is turned to start.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
the manual isnt any help. somewhere it says there is fuse section in the load bay behind the spare wheel. Do you think it might be there? when i find it, i will find the starter relay, do you know where that is?
Expert:  Beemer_Werke replied 1 month ago.

I don't know where the starter relay is, the manual doesn't say.

Expert:  Beemer_Werke replied 1 month ago.

It's late and bedtime for me, I'll be on tomorrow around noon eastern US

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
ok good night :)
Expert:  Beemer_Werke replied 1 month ago.

I am on now, Have you found that f105 fuse and the starter relay yet?

Expert:  Beemer_Werke replied 1 month ago.

I assume you found it and it was blown.
