Inside cabin/dash air conditioner leak 97 Z3
JA: How old are the hoses? And what driving conditions do you most often encounter?
Customer: hoses are original to best of my knowledge. Pleasure driving, fair weather only.
JA: Are you fixing your Z3 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: No. Just need an idea of what may be involved.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Recently replaced much of AC unit under the hood. Compressor, fan.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If refrigerant is leaking inside the vehicle it is due to a leaking evaporator, which is what refrigerant flows through and air flows over to cool it. The evaporator is in the heater box behind the dash.

The part itself runs just under $600 and it calls for 3.9 hours to replace it.
