Have a 2006 with s package and paddle shifter auto not cvt.

Customer Question

Have a 2006 with s package and paddle shifter auto not cvt. Sometimes between 3 and 4 shift it feels like it goes into neutral and then bangs into 4th. Doesn't happen if using manual mode. Could this be a solenoid?

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If it's slipping it could be clutch leakage, a valve body issue or possibly solenoid leakage, possibly a software or fluid degradation issue. Fluid degradation will cause shift feel issues but it doesn't usually progress to slipping as you're describing.

Has the fluid level been checked?
Have you checked the trans controller for fault codes?
