JA: What year is your MINI?
Customer: 2007 R56
JA: Are you fixing your MINI yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: My OBD scanner shows that I have a B camshaft timing issue.
JA: Do you know your ignition timing number? How many miles are on the car?
Customer: 65k don't know the ignition timing number.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Just curious if this sounds expensive, like cracking open the engine.

that could, in a rare case, be a timing issue (major) or possibly a bad cam actuator/solenoid (fairly minor), but if you are lucky it could be a simple bad cam sensor (very minor).


so, the answer to your question is that no, there isn't much chance this is going to be a major issue.
