Customer: The Bart, tried rocking but am stuck at a Lowe's parking lot
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Before I left the house it would not start but when I tried it a second time it did start, just figured it was the battery

Just noticed that when I try to release the parking brake it and am pressing down on the brake it is saying to step on the brake
Expert:  Chad Farhat replied 1 year ago.

check for 12 volt on battery

check for 14 volts if you get it running again .

check starter itself, you can take it out and bench tested.

i would check all my ground connection on engine block to frame,

do you have any aftermarket system in it ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No aftermarket, what about the brake pedal relay
Expert:  Chad Farhat replied 1 year ago.

there is no relay for brake pedal

can you get scan ran on it

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Then why do I have to press the brake pedal in order to start the car
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 1 year ago.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

A relay is a device that switches a high current power source to a load on signal from another component. What you're concerned with is the brake switch. The brake switch sends a signal when the pedal is pressed. If you're still seeing a message to press the brake even after it has pressed then the brake switch signal is not being seen. You can visually inspect the switch and wiring and test the switch itself with an ohm meter, if nothing is found then a scan tool would be need to diagnose the issue.
