I am trying to put the gear to neutral so that I can push

Customer Question

I am trying to put the gear to neutral so that I can push the car. The battery died and I cannot start the car.
JA: Have you checked the battery, particularly the terminal connections? Are they corroded?
Customer: It may be a problem with starter. It does not seem to engage. The battery voltage is fine.
JA: What is the model/year of your BMW?
Customer: Manufactured in 2009. 335 coupe
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I tried to jump start with another car but it does not work.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: I am just trying to out it to neutral gear so that I can push the car to a proper place. I just need to push it back by about 3 feet.
