2002 325i was in storage past winter, went to start it, battery dead,
JA: Did you test the battery with a voltmeter? And have you ever changed one before?
Customer: No and no. put the battery charger on, the interior lights and all dash lights came on
JA: Are you fixing your 325i yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: but there was a loud banging noise up front . Should I have it towed to dealer to repair do you think it is the battery?
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Hello, I'm Brandon - BMW tech.

Most likely one of battery cell is completed dead so no matter how much you charge the battery it will not hold the charge. I would advise you to test out the battery first before replacing it.
