BMW Questions? Ask a BMW Repair Expert for Answers.
when you say you replaced a tail light, do you mean the bulb or the entire assembly?
I will provide an honest answer. I trust this will be appreciated. Please remember that a low rating PUNISHES me for being honest and that I receive nothing for my time until a positive rating is clicked.
thank you for your attention to the rating requirement.
what you need to do is to replace the bulb again with one purchased from a bmw dealer, and then check all of the wiring and sockets at both tail lights. there is an issue with low quality bulbs and also with melting / hot spot development at the tail lights.
you should also check all fuses related to ighting if you have not.
if all of this checks out then you most likely have a failed lamp control module which would need to be replaced.
Please let me know if you have further questions. Please do not forget to click a positive rating as this is the only way I receive credit for my answer, thank you. Best wishes with your vehicle.
ok, then you need to replace the light module, as I said.
please do not forget to CLICK ON a positive rating
that would have been helpful info to have known. I will opt out of your question. Perhaps another expert will be able to help.
