Customer Question

Hi Roger is it very necessary to change the aluminum bolts after replacing valve gaskets on the valve cover and eccentric motor. My car is an X3 2007 SI with 129k miles on the clock. We have oil in the spark plug area and dripping from the eccentric motor area and valve cover

Yes, it is critical to replace them as the threads stretch on aluminum bolts and will not reseal properly as you have found out.
