Hi, i have a 2007 BMW m6 it won't start..this is the first time this happen, i took to the store and it was fine, drove it back home and parked it. The next morning when it won't start, it was funny how i could not get it out of Reverse and when i did got it out of reverse and push start it nothing happen, all the light in the cluster came on like if it was starting but engine did nothing, it didn't even crank..So this is what i have done so far, got the battery fully charged and still i get same symptom, so i change smg hydraulic pump relay Part#61366901469 and also i change Transmission oil pump Relay Part# XXXXX after changing all that i still get the same symptom.. So we i took out the intake manifold to test the starter. we gave power to the starter and the car crank so we now know the starter is fine, so we push the start button on the car like if we are trying to start and test the wire connector that is suppose to connect to the starter and it did not show any power. we try to see if maybe if the starter fuse is bad but could't fine it..i hope you can somehow point me in the right direction cause at this point i am pretty much lost..

Hello

this sounds to me that the immobiliser is faulty and preventing the starter from being enabled - if the dash / ignition lights are on then this usually means that its off and you're not getting that

So I'd consider replacing the key fob battery if you haven't already

if thats OK then I'd check to see if you're getting power to the ECU by measuring for 12V at the fuses in teh engine fusebox and those in the passenger compartment fusebox

Customer

so if i change the battery for the key or use my spare key it should work right, what am think is the key code got erase not sure..what should i do?

Hello

if the key code / synchronisation has been lost then the dealership diagnostic tool will be required to force it to reconnect

however its worth trying a new fob battery 1st and you can also try resetting the ECU by disconnecting the battery cables and clamping them together for 10 mins. Remove both battery leads from the battery then use a nut and bolt or G-clamp to hold both battery lead terminals together.

This discharges any capacitors / memory within the ECU and around the car so ensures all memory settings are wiped clear - back to the factory default.

This will reset all the systems on the car and ensure that the keys are in your hand when you re-connect the battery as the car may lock and turn on the alarm

I have an extra key, so do you think it is also bad? i am gonna try it tomorrow with the spare key. with the other key i put new battery and did what you said like resetting the ECU and still i get the symptom.. well i am hoping and praying that my spare key will do the job tomorrow, is there anything i should know or do before i try the spare key? please let me know..
