I am sorry to hear you have this problem. I have seen quite a few turbo failures at this mileage range. I agree that you most likely had an underlying problem since the last repair.
I would recommend that you contact BMW NA customer relations. I would explain to them how many problems you have had and they may be able to work with the dealer to offer goodwill assistance. This means BMW will cover a portion of this repair. You may have to go to your normal dealer or selling dealer for the repair but the malfunction can be reset by cycling the key in most cases and if driven more gentle the failure shut down can sometimes be avoided.
